Call For Board Of Director Applicants

The Métis Financial Corporation of BC (MFCBC) is seeking applications from Métis people in BC to be considered for one position on the Board of Directors. 

Consideration will be given to those applicants who have experience in business development, business ownership and financial lending. MFCBC invites interested applicants to visit its website at mfcbc.ca to learn more about the organization.

Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest by close of business on June 24, 2022. Letters can be mailed to 702-1726 Dolphin Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 9R9 or emailed to admin@mfcbc.ca.  

Letters of interest should include contact information, description of qualifications, description of work and career history during the past 10 years, and the names of at least two references. Applicants should also describe why they are putting their name forward. The successful applicant may be subject to a criminal record check before being appointed to the Board.

MFCBC is an independent organization established by Métis Nation BC (MNBC) in 2018 as a result of an agreement with the department of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC). MFCBC is owned and governed by a separate board of directors that is comprised of five people. MFCBC’s mission is to provide trusted financial services for Métis entrepreneurs in BC.

The Métis Financial Corporation of BC’s vision is to be Métis entrepreneur’s financer of choice and to position Métis entrepreneurs and businesses to be able to fully participate in new and future economic opportunities. Our mandate and structure permits us to provide loans to Métis entrepreneurs that commercial lenders may not be able to provide.
