BC Métis COVID-19 Business Support Programs

Metis Financial Corporation BC (MFCBC) can help Métis entrepreneurs who are struggling from reduced revenues due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have emergency loans and new grant programs available to provide support.

MFCBC can also help Métis entrepreneurs who own an existing business, are thinking of starting a new business, or are purchasing an existing business. Our financial services are based on sound business principles and practices to ensure protection of its capital base and ability to provide services for the long term.

COVID-19 Business Support Fund

Metis Financial Corporation BC (MFCBC), in partnership with Indigenous Services Canada and Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC), is delivering new COVID-19 grants for Métis entrepreneurs in British Columbia.

MFCBC has three grant programs in the COVID-19 Business Support Fund to support Métis Entrepreneurs. The programs cover microbusiness, small, medium, new, and community-owned businesses. These grant programs are aimed at providing financial relief to allow Métis businesses to remain operating until the BC COVID-19 Economic Recovery Plan is fully implemented in 2021. The new grant programs are also aimed at supporting Métis businesses that may not have qualified for financial relief programs initiated earlier in the pandemic.

COVID-19 Emergency Response Loans

MFCBC has supported over 165 Métis businesses with emergency loans worth almost $5 million so far during the COVID-19 pandemic.

These are difficult times, and we’re glad to now be able to provide additional support to Métis entrepreneurs in BC through our COVID-19 Emergency Response Loans Program. New applicants are now eligible for up to $60,000 with up to $20,000 forgivable, and entrepreneurs who have already received a COVID-19 Emergency Response Loan from MFCBC can apply for our ‘Top Up Program’ which will supply top up loans of up to $20,000 with up to $10,000 forgivable.

Métis entrepreneurs in bC have seen their Business Decrease during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and MFCBC is here to Help However we Can.
